Tom Thickel named to lead Levin Porter
Associates toward Fiftieth Year of Practice …
(March 27, 2007, Dayton, OH) - Levin Porter Associates Inc, one of
the Region’s leading architecture firms, announces new officers with
the recent retirement of Ewald Schulte.
Thomas B. Thickel, AIA will now serve as president and director of
operations of the 20-employee architecture, planning and interior
design firm. Thickel who holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Ohio
State University will continue to lead business development and
marketing areas of the practice. Thickel has been a member of the
firm since 1980 and most recently held the position of senior vice
president.
J. William Williams AIA has been named senior vice president.
Williams, who received both his undergraduate degree and master’s
degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, joined the
firm in 1989. A principal in the firm since 1998, Williams will
continue in his role as director of technology integration.
Three of the firm’s associates, Patrick Hillier AIA, Jay Killingbeck
CPA and Mark Wiseman AIA, have been named vice presidents of the
firm.
Hillier earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of
Detroit joined the firm in 1999, and is currently serving as project
architect on many of the firm’s major Medical and University
projects.
Killingbeck, a CPA, received his Bachelor degree from Indiana
University at South Bend and his MBA from Ball State University.
Killingbeck joined the firm in 1996 as Controller and will continue
to serve in that position.
Wiseman, who has earned both a Bachelor of Environmental Design and
Masters of Architecture from Miami University, joined the firm in
1996 and is currently serving as Project Architect on many of the
firm’s PK-12 Educational projects.
Levin Porter Associates Inc, an AIA/Ohio Gold Medal winning firm,
has been a major player in shaping the architectural environment of
the region including, the expansion and renovation of the Dayton Art
Institute, The Dayton International Airport, the Montgomery County
Jail, and the new medical center in Dayton. The firm has recently
completed projects in Cincinnati, Columbus, Ann Arbor and
Indianapolis, as well as a wide range of other noteworthy and award
winning projects. Levin Porter Associates has also left its’ mark on
Ohio’s educational institutions having recently designed projects at
Central State University, Ohio University, Miami University, The
Ohio State University, Wright State University and Sinclair
Community College. Currently the firm is doing their part to rebuild
Dayton’s public schools, by providing design services for Kiser
Elementary School, Residence Park Elementary School and the new
Belmont High School.
